My gym teacher is letting us do muscles workouts with weights in a weight room. He said that by the last day of this workout he needs to see us do atleast 5-7 weight lift ups while laying on a mat. And he said that we could choose how much weight we wanted to pick up. Today is day 2 of the workout thing and may arms hurt soo much. The highest amount of weight i could pick up with both my arms is about 70 pounds (i can barely lift) and im just thinking, if i keep this up and i gain some sort of muscle, will the 50 pound and 40 pound feel lighter to me eventually? Oh and the class period is about 45 minutes long and we change in the lockerroom which takes off 10 minutes so thats 35 minutes in the weight room. i dont take any breaks in the weight room (the only time is when im switching to another work area for another type of workout. Oh and by the way i think it is easier for me to push the weight (idk it is a work station where you have 2 handles and you swing the the weight back and forth) than actually lift it (like a dumb bell- idk if i wrote that write)
oh and do you think my muscles will grow? if i continue the 70 pound lift up?
oh and my muscles on my arm are aching from last night is that normal?
Best answer:
Yes the muscles will enlarge overtime, and the same weights you are lifting now, will suddenly feel much lighter!
Yes, muscles do make you much stronger, and you look much more filled out too!
Yes it's perfectly normal for the muscles to ache the following day after workouts, that's a sign they are growing!
No pain, no gain!
When I get that aching feeling after workouts, I leave the weights alone for some three days or more, then go back to them and start again!
Don't go lifting weights in the after pain process, you could end up tearing a muscle and be left in a lot of pain!
I'm very well built, I eat lots and lots of tuna fish!
