Question by jpearl28: Resistance machines for weight loss and toning?
I have lost a lot of weght, from a size 24 to a 16. I am female, 53 years old. I started going to the gym in november. ( i exercised at home before that) I feel great. I go to the gym 3 times a week. I do resistance machines and different aerobic machines. My question. How long does it take to see a significant difference? On the leg machines I am up to about 120 pounds resistance. I do one set of reps 10 to 15 times until it is too difficult to continue.
Down deep I have never trustd that resisfance machines do anything yet I see men with muscles on them all the time going hyper and appearing to kill themselves. Am I being too gentle?
Should I go and do quick reps with heavy weights.
When will I see a significant change in my body? Any suggestions appreciated.

cycling swiming and running is for toning..

resistance and pumping iron is for building....
Oxygen = toning (aerobic)
Without Oxygen = building. (ana-bolic)

first u must get rid of the fat,
then to see visible muscles u must built it...
