If you spend any amount of time in the same gym day after day, week after week, as the months go by you start to get familiar with the people coming out of the spin class, and the rest of the crowd that frequents the weight room or the cardio theatre. What I noticed back then, is that even the people I would see at the gym everyday looked exactly the same month in month out. There was no change. We know that it possible to make visible changes to your body in just 3 months. Question by Scott: Doing P90X in my dorm room?
Hey I'm a freshman and I've been doing p90x during the summer and really like it. Should I bring all the dvds over to college to do them? Or should I only bring the ones without weights? I do have a set of dumbbells but it would be hard to bring them over to college plus I would have to bring over different sets because for many exercises the weight I use vary. Should I just lift at the gym instead of doing the p90x lifting stuff?
As for cardio/yoga I was planning on bringing kenpo x, plyometrics, and yoga x.
I'm planning on doing those cardio/yoga workouts and lifting throughout the week however for yoga x I don't have a mat and I really don't want to do it on the carpet in my dorm room so do you think it would be okay to do the yoga x on my bed? or would it be too unstable?
If there are any other p90x workout dvds (besides kenpo, plyo, and yoga) to bring to college please let me know.
thanks a lot!

There is no reason you can't do p90x in your dorm room if you want to keep doing it. You might have to get a bit creative. They have dumbbells that you can dial up to whatever weight you need, that save a TON of space (bowflex makes a pair), but if you are like most college kids, this is too pricey. Another great option is to switch to resistance bands. They can work just as well, take up little space, are easily transportable, and lightweight. If you want to continue doing it, I would recommend you stick with the entire program though, or find a different program you can stick with. Any of the p90x discs are great on their own as well, but they really give you the great results you can get from them as a system.
I would not recommend doing yoga on a bed. You need to balance, and hold postures for a long time. You won't be able to do this effectively on something that isn't stable. If you can't afford a mat (20 bucks or so at any store that sells them), just toss down a blanket on the floor you want to use. I've had to do that in the past, and it isn't the easiest at all times, but it works well enough.
Hope this helps!
