What type of weight lifting gloves should I wear?

Question by chicagojk: What type of weight lifting gloves should I wear?
I've been lifting weights for a little while now, but I'm getting these tough calluses that my wife doesn't like. Also, my hands sometimes give out before my arms do. Would weight lifting gloves help?

Also, I don't want to look like a meathead. I remember reading somewhere about these gloves that only fit on the inside of your hands - they're more like leather straps that go over the inside of your knuckles. Anyone have any idea what this could be? Or have other suggestions for weight lifting gloves that aren't so dorky looking?

Best answer:
my gloves have wrist support but any glove will do. are your hands giving out when doing back workout? try getting a pair of hooks or wraps. this is what i think your talking about. the staps go around your wrist. then you wrap the long end around the bar so you can have a better grip.
