What can I expect from using only my own weight for exercise?

Question by alex: What can I expect from using only my own weight for exercise?
From only doing chin ups, push ups, and sit ups. Will I get strong? compared to weight exercises, how will my muscles be different?

Yup, it's worked for me. Pullups have become less challenging so I took one of my kids' old backpacks and put 10 kg (22 lb) of weight in them to help to get over the plateau.

Situps probably won't do much for you, though. Plank's a much more efficient core strenghtening exercise.
