Question by The Illusion of Progress: Would these plates be the right size for standard dumbbells?
I'm new to the whole weight lifting thing.

These are not for dumbbells; these are BARBELL plates (the kind you would put on either end of a long, straight bar and then do exercises accordingly. Dumbbells come with the weights/plates already fused to the metal bar. But yes, for barbell plates, these look like they would do the trick. I would start with a curl bar or a smaller bar though if you are new, not the large 45# BAR.
