Question by Lisardo: Which weight scale is right?
On my weight scale at home (the old dial kind) and on my friend's weight scale (digital kind) I weigh the same, around 150-155 lbs (varies with water retention with my menstral cycle). But on other scales in stores I've stood on and tried out, plus at the doctor's office, it's like 6 lbs heavier at like 161 or 162. What's going on? Which scale do I believe?
Also I will note that I may have gained a bit of weight but my measurements around are mostly the same, I mostly look the same, and I still fit into my pant sizes just fine like I haven't gained any weight at all.
I appreciate the weight-loss product links but I'm pretty much right where I need to be. And that's not even what I'm asking so please STOP talking about weight-loss products and answer the question at hand about weight scales. Thanks.
Best answer:
I would say the doctor's office scale is more likely to be accurate than the one you have at home. But as you mentioned you may have had some up & downs with weight. 5 pounds may come and go with cycles or water gain. What matters is that your scale is consistent so that you can compare to yourself over time. Don't worry too much about inconsistencies. I would also recommend against checking your weight too much. It's natural to have ups & downs over a short period of time.
