I am starting a summer workout again, but i don't want to lose the muscle i have gained over the winter. I know that insanity is a lot of hiit and will burn a lot of calories. If i use the amount of protein needed while bulking, will i lose te muscle mass or will i sustain what i have? /i know it is extremely difficult to gain muscle and burn fat, but can i burn fat and stay neutral with muscle?

Some people report losing a little mass, but not enough that it should steer you away from Insanity; it really is an excellent cardio program.
Insanity does have 'stength and resistence' cardio, but just hardcore cardio with a sprinkle of push-ups, triceps, and some shoulder work.
I add curls and pull-ups to the end of my workouts twice a week, but other than that, I don't worry about the lost mass, as the body fat is nearing 8% now, which I find harder to achieve than what little mass you would lose in 60 days. :)
I, too, keep the protein up to nearly 50% of my daily calories...50/30/20 protein/carbs/healthy fats.
