Question by sr70g3k: How do I harness my willpower to get off of the couch?
I'm on my quest to look at least half as fit as my friends are by February. I'm doing okay - I still need to loose 30ish pounds but it will come in due time. I'm eating fine, and haven't had sweets in over a month. But that was only step one - I can't seem to actually harness the willpower to get off of the couch and onto the treadmill. Every night I think of what I did that day, and I think to myself: "Dangit, if I would have not stared at that TV for 30 minutes or spent that hour on the computer forums then I could be an average weight by now, tomorrow when you've got nothing to do, walk 10 feet to the treadmill and watch the same TV show you were just watching while you're excersizing.." But this barely ever happens. I can't get myself off of the couch. I keep on trying to think of the payoff, but most of the time I just can't do it. Pathetic, I know, I know. But I seriously need help because I really want to make sure that I reach my goal -I just really want to be healthy and fit
Best answer:
Just do it. I have been doing cardio for six months now, 4-5 days a week and this past month I have only worked out twice. Somedays were lazier than others and some I was on my feet most the day. Once you get back in the routine it'll kick in. But hey we all deserve a vacation right? As long as your eating healthy you wont gain anything.
