Hi, so I understand women should lift heavy weight to lose fat which is what I have been doing for 2 months and which has worked extremely effectively for fat loss. I also know women getting too bulky from weight training is a myth and that it is rare due to our mucher lower testosterone, but what I am confused about is that I have rapidly progressed and currently use 8kilo (17.5 pound) dumbells in each hand for major body exercises and a little lighter for the various arm exercises and as I reach a point of being able to do more than16 reps for 5-8 sets I go up in weight and my trainer believes I will soon be progressing to 10 kilo dumbells (22 pounds) in each hand for 8 sets of 8 reps. That seems like a lot and I can't seem to find much reference to this on the net. Is there a point where weights are so heavy that women actually do bulk? I am really only looking to lose weight and keep a toned body.

If you continue to increase the weight you lift, your muscles will continue to grow.
There is no magic number that is suddenly going to make your muscles huge. They will continue to grow at a very slow rate. Eventually, you'll get to a point where you like the amount of muscle you have, and you can switch to a program to maintain that muscle mass.
