What exactly does a weight belt do?

Question by noone: What exactly does a weight belt do?
i think it claims that if you wear it during your workout it makes your midsection get hotter and shed weight faster? Is this true? I just like it cause it keeps my fat from bouncing all over the place during plyometrics but i do seem to sweat a whole lot more under the belt, my shirt is mostly dry but soaked under the belt. Does it really make fat come off the midsection faster or is it superficial weight if any?

Best answer:
It is used because to burn calories weight comes into the equation too.
It won't spot reduce (like your mid section).
If you carried the extra weight anywhere it would give the same result.
