Weight Lifting?

Hey im 17yrs old 5'9" 230lbs. I started lifting in May and i was 280lbs. The last 3 weeks i stayed the same weight. I added in 2 miles of running 5 times a week 2 weeks ago and i still vary from 228-230. I use to lift heavy weights light reps. Now my goal is to be 180lbs cut, ripped, and defined. Im going to keep on running but should i now switch from lifting heavy weights and turn to lifting lighter ones to get my body out of its plateau and burn more fat?


Best answer:
Just alternate from a high rep 15-20 count per set (to failure) for a muscle group, then the next time you hit that muscle group shoot for a 6-8 rep count (to failure). It will keep your body guessing and growing. Th plateau effect is mainly from not changing up the order of the exercises, and the reps.

Weight lifting began for me over 14 years ago as a means to gain muscular weight for hockey.
