Question by andrew: Why am I gaining weight?
I am a 25 year old male, 5'10 1/2. Since Wednesday, my weight has gone from 225 pounds to 234. A year and a half ago, I weighed over 300 pounds.
I eat 1500-1600 calories a day, work out Monday-Friday burning around 500 calories (some light weight toning Tues and Thurs and at least half an hour of cardio with my heart rate in the high 160's.) I was losing weight, now I seem to be putting weight back on. I already have a lot of muscle, so I don't think the light weights and many reps are putting muscle on.
I eat organic, no sugar, no fried foods, lean meats, don't eat a lot of salty foods etc... I have not broken my diet or exercise routine. Body functions are normal.
What gives? I need to loose weight at a fast clip because of my profession (read someone is telling me to loose more weight). I can't afford to slow down and def can't afford to go backwards.
What gives? Ideas?
Best answer:
did you ever hear muscle weighs more than fat look in the mirror and see if you can see any fat because if you dont see any then it must be the muscle thats makeing the weight gain
