I used to compulsively exercise and eat about 500 calories or less a day. I am not counting calories now, but I'm assuming it's around 800 calories a day and I'm taking a week off of exercising, but I used to exercise at least 4-5 days a week. I constantly look bloated, especially after I eat. My mom even agreed that I look pregnant sometimes. I was just wondering approximately how long it will take for the bloating to go away and the weight to redistribute evenly.

I've been through the same exact thing. I'm in recovery right now, and at my lowest weight I was eating 200-500 calories a day and also exercising obsessively. Being bloated once raising your calories is totally normal, I PROMISE you that. Your body isn't used to being fed more and simply isn't sure what to do. Also, your metabolism is going to be extremely slow, but because you're young, I promise it will speed back up when you start eating normally. 800 calories a day still isn't enough. I've been through treatment and they put me on a meal plan that brought me to about 2,000 calories a day. It was TERRIFYING and I honestly wouldn't suggest you do this on your own or you won't be able to handle it. It takes a lot of work to get through this. You should look into Renfrew (that's where I went for treatment) or another treatment center similar to that. I promise you the weight distributes though! Over the past 9 months I have gone from 98 pounds to 115 (I'm 5'5.5) and it's REALLY hard to sit with sometimes, but the weight really did distribute well. My stomach isn't huge like I feared it would be and for the most part I'm okay with my body. You won't gain weight jsut in your stomach. Your body just isn't used to food.
