This may seem like a odd question, but I can't seem to find out a standard answer. I know the bar itself has a weight, but do all such bars weigh the same? If they do, what is that weight? Then lets say you put a 45 pound plate at each end. Is the combined weight of each plate and the bar together considered the calculation of how much is "benched" ? Or is a person said to be benching only 90 pounds (45+45 excluding the bar)? Please explain.
Best answer:
Usually the bars (found in gyms and schools) are 45 pounds. Putting 45's on each side would make the weight 135.
