Just wondering if anyone has the same problem or if this is a sign i need to get a new one, when i begin with the left foot it shows i weigh a 1.5lb more then if i begin with the right foot.

You might want to invest in a better scale. Mine used to fluctuate pretty badly and it wasnt worth my frustration to save a few bucks.
