Question by marshal_imran: what are the good and positive ways to increase weight?
I don't wanna short cuts but i need constructive ideas regarding weight increase. I wanna consciously increase my weight. what should be my diet plan based on?


Best answer:
Gain a pound per week (or less).

Get 30% of your daily energy from "good" unsaturated fat, 20-30% from protein, and the rest from "slow" carbohydrates (low on the glycemic index). Adjust your carbs until you gain at an acceptable rate.

Lift heavy weights, using compound movements like squats, overhead presses, deadlifts, bench presses, and pull-ups. If you gain weight without lifting, your gains will come mainly in the form of fat. If you lift, you will build some muscle.
