Question by : If my wife complains about her weight but refuses to exercise, eat healthy, or just accept it, what can I do?
First off I want to say that my wife is NOT fat. I accept her for who she is and I told her that 100,000,000 times; but as you women know, once your mind is made up about how you feel about someone or something, no man on Earth can change your mind... So with that said, I need help convincing my wife to do something about her weight since it's not going to shed itself away...
So here's the deal: my wife has all the time in the world to join her (heavier than her) girlfriends at the gym but chooses to be home and unproductive instead. Now she can't use the excuse she works too hard on house chores because I'm an at home dad (due to partial paralyzing back injury) and she doesn't have to lift a finger. I also make the meals since I'm the at home parent with 2 kids, and when I make healthier meals she tries to unhealthy it up with high caloric dressings and drinking a high caloric soda pop with it. My wife also refuses to just eat less (not stop eating) and she has "snacks" between every meal; "snacks" are acceptable if she wants to lose weight, but the types of "snacks" she grabs aren't (chips, cookies, treats, etc)...
You can't call it "depression" because I make her life a small piece of heaven by me doing all the work!!! I think she just doesn't want to be responsible about her weight because she's in denial that her teenage metabolism is gone (she was a size 0 when I met her and now she's a 9 - which I still think looks good but she doesn't) and I think the fact she has a fear of sweating/stinking she refuses to exercise because of that...
So I know there's nothing **** I **** can do about this because it's HER problem, but she just complains that she's not as skinny as her sister and then she does nothing about it and I need your friendly advice on what I can say to her or do for her to get this exercise program going!!!
Money IS an issue and we can't afford the gyms with daycare, so either she has to go with girlfriends, or we would need to find a babysitter (and a gym that has exercise equipment that won't screw with my back); so let's just assume she has to do this on her own but with my moral support (which she isn't receptive to since it sounds like she wants to lose weight for competitive reasons and not because of health).

Sounds like you can't win for trying.
She just wants to biatch, so just listen to what she says and leave it at that. If she won't help herself, there is definitely nothing you can do......
