Burn Abdominal Fat Fast With A Medicine Ball

Article by Koko Bell

A medicine ball is a small heavily weighted ball used for strength training and muscle toning. They come in a range of sizes and weights starting at 1 kg up to 8 kg's or more. You can increase the weight of the ball as your strength increases.

I swear by these amazing pieces of equipment, and want to share two very effective abdominal fat burning exercises.

The first one is the medicine ball lunge. This simple exercise targets not only your thighs and bum but done incorporating the ball, tones your stomach muscles and arms too!

a)Stand up straight with a 2 - 5 kg ball held over your head.b)Keep your arms slightly bent to increase tension in the arm muscles and consciously tighten your abdominals.c)Take a big step forward into a lunge with your knee bent and your thigh parallel to the ground. Make sure your back knee is lowered to about 5 cm off the ground.d)Return to standing and repeat on the other side. This is a very powerful exercise and can be done by just continuing to walk forward or one leg at a time.e) Repeat this 10 to 15 times, rest and repeat 10 to 15 reps.

A Leather Medicine Ball pullover requires an exercise ball too. If you don't have one, you can either lie flat on the floor or use a wide, knee height bench to position your back on.

a)Sit on the exercise ball while holding your medicine ball in both hands. b)Roll down the exercise ball whilst moving your medicine ball over your head, elbows level with ears and the ball above the top of your head. c)Your feet should be directly below your knees making a nice 90 degree angle. Holding this bridge position is very effective at toning your core abdominal muscles and burning fat. d)Bring the ball over your head and then lower back again. Make sure your arms don't go below your head when stretched back in full. e) Repeat this 10 to 15 times, rest and repeat 10 to 15 reps.

These two exercises alone can not only burn abdominal fat but tone your legs, arms and bottom at the same time.
