Question by aduffy76: Do you need a rest day with pilate/yoga style exercise?
I understand that when you are doing weight training (even moderate), it is best to leave a rest day in between workouts or work different muscle groups on alternate days. Does the same hold true when you are doing pilates/yoga and are only using your body weight for resistance? I would like to incorporate these types of workouts into my routine and I don't want to injure myself, plus I would like to get the best results from my workouts in general.


Best answer:
I know with yoga, you should try to do something everyday. I think with Pilates, the story is different because the ab muscles need to recover with a day of rest.
