I try exercising, but the weight only comes off of my stomach and other areas of my body, and leaves it on my legs. Any suggestions to get the weight off?

While it may appear that you are only losing in some places, you are in fact actually losing everywhere else as well. It's just that the thigh area is bigger, thus having more fat. Be patient. You can be sure that if you are losing in some places, you are losing in all the other places as well. Make sure you do cardio, such as walking/jogging. This will help you to lose weight quicker, especially in those suborn areas like your thighs, plus you will be toning/tightening the legs/thighs and buttocks all at the same time! Good luck!
