What should I buy: A 40lb weight vest or a Weight Bench?

Question by TheRealCP1341: What should I buy: A 40lb weight vest or a Weight Bench?
i only have $ 140 to spend and i can either buy a $ 70 40lb weight vest or a $ 100 weight bench with a 600lb weight capacity. I'm 5'9 and 203. i can only bench 95lb which sucks but i dont lift weights. my goal is to lift 200lbs. I'm convincing my parents to get the barbell and weights for me and she agreed. Heres the link to the bench

weight bench: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Marcy-Standard-Size-Weight-Bench/7731202

weight vest: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Altus-40lb-Adjustable-Weighted-Vest/12177384

ok. i plan on not lifting with a spotter because i wont have a spotter to help me. for bench pressing, ill just do weighted pushups but idk if thats equivalant to benching. i have a treadmill at my house. i have my 2 car garage to workout and if i get the weight vest, ill probably get some 20lb dumbells. i also have resistance bands but they're not that great.
the reason i dont want a gym membership is that i cant lift that much and its embarresing when people look at my build and see im only benching 95lb. i also was thinking i might just get the weight vest for sprinting but im still deciding. i play basketball btw but my new years resolution is to lose fat gain muscle.

Best answer:
The weight vest is pointless for what you are doing, so don't waste your money.

My advice is check Craiglist in your local area, loads of people have second hand equipment they are willing to sell at low prices just to free up some room in their house, and to be rid of the reminder of their failures, so why not take advantage of that and get more equipment?
